Short Biography:

Dr. Rubaiyat Islam is a seasoned professional with a multifaceted career spanning both academia and industry. Presently, he serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at World University Bangladesh (WUB). Before joining WUB, he served as a Crypto-economist at Sifchain Finance in the USA, where he specialized in the intersection of economics and cryptocurrencies. His work involved research in blockchain-based distributed solutions, network analysis with predictive modeling, and the application of machine learning to enhance the crypto ecosystem. 

His academic journey culminated in the completion of a Ph.D. degree from the Graduate School of Simulation Studies at the University of Hyogo, Japan. His doctoral thesis centered on the development of network analysis and simulation models for cryptocurrency-based blockchain networks, with a particular emphasis on flow dynamics. This research has equipped him with a deep understanding of the intricacies of blockchain technology and its real-world applications. 

In addition to his academic pursuits, he possesses a wealth of experience in the Information Technology sector, gained through roles in multinational companies. His commitment to continuous growth led him to pursue an Executive MBA degree with a major in "Operation Management." This academic endeavor provided him with a holistic perspective, allowing me to comprehend the financial and marketing facets of product development and service delivery planning and forecasting.

Furthermore, he actively contributes to the global tech community as the Chapter Lead for the Omdena Bangladesh Chapter, facilitating collaborative projects that address real-world challenges through data science and AI. His dedication to research and collaboration has led him to participate in joint research projects, present at conferences, and engage in various academic and industry forums.

In summary, his diverse career trajectory, blending research, academia, and industry, underscores his commitment to advancing technology, innovation, and education in the rapidly evolving landscape of blockchain and distributed solutions.                                              


Research Interests of Dr. Rubaiyat Islam:

Modeling and simulation of complex systems, Complex networks, and structural dynamics, Machine Learning and deep learning on Natural Language Processing, Computational Economics, Big Data Analysis, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, blockchain-based distributed application, and solution development.
