Short Biography:

Kazi Hassan Robin is currently serving as Associate Professor of Computer Science and Engineering in the World University of Bangladesh. Besides teaching Computer Science at the university, he is involved with many tech-based community movements in Bangladesh.

Kazi Hassan Robin has been recognized with many accolades, including the prestigious UK Alumni Award by the British Council in 2023. He was also appointed as an SDG Advocate in the MY World Asia-Pacific 2030 Programme by the UNDP Asia-Pacific Regional Hub (Bangkok) in recognition of his work promoting the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2020. His initiative YEF won the ‘Youth Excellence Award’ in the Youth Leadership Carnival-2019 organized by YCB in collaboration with UKAid.

Robin is the Joint Secretary of the  executive Board of country's  largest Tech for Good non profit organization Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN). he is the  advisor of the Google Developers Group (GDG) Bangla, the largest local developer community of Google in Bangladesh. He is also the Trustee and Vice President at Center for Open Knowledge, a non-profit research network that promotes the concept of open knowledge and open data around the world. Robin received the BDSiG fellowship in the year 2019 by the Bangladesh Internet Governance Forum. He regularly contribute as judge and mentor in national level ICT competitions among which Bangladesh Robot Olympiad, National Hackathon organized by the ICT Division of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Huawei ICT Incubator, BDApps Hackathon arranged by Robi Axiata Ltd. are notable.

Robin earned his MSc. in Information Technology from University of East London, UK. He has several publications in international peer reviewed/ indexed journals relevant to his field of study. His research interest lies within Applied Computing, Internet of Things, Health Informatics, Technology Enhanced Learning, Computer Security etc.

Robin is highly determined and motivated to use his experience and knowledge to promote the use of technology to build a better world for the future generations.
