Short Biography:
Kazi Hassan Robin is an Associate professor of Computer
Science and Engineering at the World University of Bangladesh. Besides teaching
Computer Science at the university, he is involved with many tech-based
community movements in Bangladesh.
Robin is the advisor of the Google Developers Group (GDG)
Bangla, the largest local developer community of Google in Bangladesh. He is
also the Trustee and Vice President at Center for Open Knowledge, a non-profit
research network that promotes the concept of open knowledge and open data
around the world. Robin received the BDSiG fellowship in the year 2019 by the
Bangladesh Internet Governance Forum.
Robin earned his MSc. in Information Technology from
University of East London, UK. As an academic his research works has been
appreciated for innovative ideas in the field of his study and won several
awards and honorary mentions. He has several publications in international peer
reviewed journals relevant to his field of study. His research interest lies
within Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Human Computer Interaction,
Ubiquitous Computing, Cognitive Computing etc.
He has played his role as judge in many national ICT
competitions among which Bangladesh Robot Olympiad, National Hackathon
organized by the ICT Division of the Government of the People’s Republic of
Bangladesh, Internet Genius (iGen) organized by Daily Prothom Alo and Grameen
Phone, Digital Idea Contest organized by Grameen Phone, BDApps Hackathon
arranged by Robi Axiata Ltd. are notable.
Robin is highly determined and motivated to use his
experience and knowledge to promote the use of technology to build a better
world for the future generations.
